After lab testing, coatings submitted for AAMA 2604 verification are subjected to five consecutive years of exposure to the harsh Florida climate. After a minimum of 3000 hours of humidity exposure and 3000 hours of exposure to corrosive salt spray, AAMA experts review the panels to evaluate for erosion, quality, color retention and more.
- AAMA 2605 powder coating: AAMA 2605 powder coating is the highest rating attainable and is reserved for powders with a superior performance rating. The most recent guidelines require test panels to withstand 10 years of exposure to the elements with minimal wear. Under AAMA 2605 17A guidelines, panels must meet a minimum of 2000 hours of corrosion exposure and 4000 hours of resistance in humid environments.
