Each of Keystone Koating's plants are different.  Plant 2 consists of a warehouse, an automated coating line and a large batch coating line.

Size Capabilities at Plant #2

Automated Line: The automated line is capable of powder coating parts that are 24" wide X 54" high X 96" long.

Batch Line: The batch line is capable of handling parts up to 84" wide X 84" high X 204" long.

Steps conducted at Plant #2

  1. The product is received and stored in our warehouse.
  2. The parts are taken from the warehouse and staged for coating.
  3. The parts are hung on the conveyor line and prepared in our seven stage chemical pre-treatment station.  The stages are as follows:

    1st stage: Alkaline Cleaner
    2nd stage: Rinse
    3rd stage: Rinse
    4th stage: Iron Phosphate
    5th stage: Rinse
    6th stage: Rinse
    7th stage: Sealer
     
  4. After the pretreatment, the parts enter a dry-off oven to be heated and dried.
  5. After the parts are dried, they enter the spray booth and are sprayed with a combination of automatic and manual touch-up spray guns.
  6. With the powder in place, the parts enter the cure oven and is cured to the powder manufacturers
    specifications.
  7. After cooling, it is then packaged to prevent scratching and placed in storage.
